Why Learn from Professionals? The Answers Behind Master Classes

Our Master Classes are taught by Broadway and West End pro’s, and many people wonder what the benefits of being taught by a stage actor are. Here’s three reasons why it’s helpful to learn from the pro’s.

1. Make Connections

Being able to learn from professional Broadway and West End stars in a classroom with roughly 30 other students gives you the perfect advantage to really get to know someone. It’s easy to talk to the teacher, learn from them personally, and show them your own abilities in-class. That connection made with the professional can be extremely beneficial to one’s stage career. If a relationship with the teacher is managed properly, then one day you might be able to gain an acting role, thanks to the vouching done by the teacher you met. At the very least, you’ll be able to say you met and learned from someone who has been on a Broadway or West End stage.

2. Learn Tricks of the Trade

Every Broadway or West End star has little tricks that regular teachers may not know. With an entire life dedicated to the arts, it’s easy to say that they must have some sort of move, technique, or motivational drive that you can’t learn from just anyone. Simply the stories that professional singers, dancers, and actors have are interesting enough to learn from that even the professionals as Hues Productions learn something new every time we host a class!

3. Hands-on Critique

Our Master Classes are also dubbed “intensives” for a reason: they’re intense classes that have a lot of in-depth practicing. If you join one of our three day classes, you’ll be working for a weekend straight with just your classmates, and it won’t be easy. However, the hands-on, personal critiques that you’ll receive from our professional teacher will be invaluable to your development. Being told what you’re doing wrong and right is one of the most helpful things that can be done for you. While any teacher can critique your abilities, a professional’s opinion is helpful because they know what it takes to be on stage in front of an audience.
